Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana — deposit-free LPG connection
Government of India
Overview
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana provides a deposit-free cooking gas (LPG) connection in the name of an adult woman from a poor household. The first refill and the stove (hotplate) are free.
The government provides up to Rs 2,050 of support per connection, which includes the regulator and safety hose. The subsidy on later refills is paid directly to the bank account (DBT).
A woman aged 18 or above whose household has no LPG connection from any oil company can apply with the prescribed Deprivation Declaration at an authorised LPG distributor, or online through the PMUY or oil company websites.
