About Janvikash

Janvikash (জনবিকাশ) is an independent, Bengali-first information portal. Our aim is to bring information about government jobs, schemes and scholarships to West Bengal residents in plain language, in one place.

We are not part of any government department, commission or board, and we do not speak for them. We do not use government emblems or identities.

Despite the similar name, Janvikash is not a government scheme or programme. It has no connection with the central government's Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) or any other government initiative.

How we work

• Notices and information are collected from approved official government sources.
• Automated tools help extract information and detect changes, but new listings and important changes are checked by an editor against the official document before publication.
• Every listing links to the official notification and application page, and shows when the source was checked and when it was verified.
• If a notification does not state something, we do not guess.

Commercial relationships

We currently have no sponsorships or paid content. If that changes, it will be clearly labelled. We will never charge for information that official authorities provide free of charge.
