Overview
The Purba Bardhaman District Health & Family Welfare Samiti is engaging 13 contractual staff under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) for Urban Primary Health Centres (U-PHCs) in the Kalna, Katwa and Burdwan municipalities: 1 Pharmacist (Kalna, unreserved) and 12 Staff Nurses.
The Pharmacist needs a two-year D-Pharm (allopathic) and 'A' category registration with the West Bengal Pharmacy Council; pay is Rs 22,000 a month and age 18–40. Staff Nurses need GNM or B.Sc. Nursing and registration with the West Bengal Nursing Council; pay is Rs 25,000 a month and age up to 40. The initial engagement runs to March 2027 and is renewable.
The earlier Staff Nurse notice (No. 1029 of 8 December 2025) has been cancelled and applications are being invited afresh. The last date to apply online is 13 November 2026 (hr.wbhealth.gov.in). A provisional list for document verification will be published by 20 November 2026.

Eligibility
Pharmacist:
- Two-year Diploma in Pharmacy (D-Pharm, allopathic) recognised by the Government of West Bengal
- Registered as an 'A' category Pharmacist with the West Bengal Pharmacy Council
- Weightage for higher qualifications; proficiency in Bengali and in computers including MS Office and internet
Staff Nurse:
- GNM from an institute recognised by the Indian Nursing Council / W.B. Nursing Council, or B.Sc. Nursing
- Registered with the W.B. Nursing Council
- Proficiency in the local language
All candidates must be permanent residents of West Bengal and able to read, write and speak Bengali.
Selection process
Pharmacist (total 100):
- Academic (proportionate): up to 65 with D-Pharm, 75 with B-Pharm, 85 with M-Pharm
- Computer test: 15 (minimum 50% to qualify)
Staff Nurse: by marks in the qualifying examination.
Additional subjects excluded; two decimals, no rounding off. Candidates must attend every stage.
