Overview
The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata will engage two Research Associate-III on a temporary basis for the National Quantum Mission (DST) project “Quantum Algorithms and Learning: Insights from Complexity and Information Theory”, run by its Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit and Advanced Computing & Microelectronics Unit. The appointment is initially up to 31 March 2027 at most.
Candidates need a Ph.D. (submitted or awarded) in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related subject, with a strong theoretical computer science record shown by publications in top conferences or journals. Pay is Rs 67,000 a month plus HRA. Age must not exceed 50 years as on 10 November 2026.
The walk-in interview is on 10 November 2026 at 12 noon on the 9th floor of S N Bose Bhavan, ISI. Candidates who want an online interview must email their resume and documents before 9 November.

Eligibility
- Essential: Ph.D. (submitted or awarded) in Computer Science/Mathematics or a related subject, with a strong theoretical computer science research record shown by publications in top CS conferences/journals
- Desirable: research experience in theoretical CS at top institutes/universities
Selection process
Walk-in interview on 10 November 2026 at 12 noon. A written/programming test may be held to shortlist candidates. Original documents and a fitness certificate from the institute's Medical Officer are required on joining.
