Overview
The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata will engage one Project Associate-I on a temporary, full-time basis for the DBT-funded project “Centre of Excellence for Crop Protection: Sustainable Agrobiologicals for Climate-Resilient Agriculture” at its Agricultural & Ecological Research Unit. The appointment runs initially until 31 March 2027 and ends with the project.
Candidates need an M.Sc. in Agriculture, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology or another relevant life-science subject. Pay is Rs 31,000 a month for CSIR/UGC-JRF/NET/GATE-qualified candidates and Rs 25,000 for others, plus HRA. Age must not exceed 35 years as on 16 November 2026.

Vacancies
Project Associate-I: 1 post, purely contractual and co-terminus with the project. The institute has no residential facilities for contractual staff.
Eligibility
- Essential: M.Sc. in Agriculture, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology or any other relevant life-science subject from a recognised university/institute
- Desirable: research experience in plant nanobiotechnology, plant stress physiology and/or plant–microbe or plant–soil interactions; experience with pot, greenhouse and field trials preferred
Selection process
A written test in the subject area may be held to shortlist candidates, followed by an interview. Interview details are sent by email; bring original documents for verification.
