Post-Matric Scholarship (SC, ST, OBC and minority students)

Government of West Bengal (with central ministries)

Overview

The Post-Matric Scholarship helps SC, ST, OBC and minority students with study costs from Class XI through undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses after passing Class 10. The Government of West Bengal runs it together with the central ministries.

It covers full or partial reimbursement of tuition fees and other non-refundable compulsory charges; a monthly or annual maintenance allowance by course level and hosteller/day-scholar status; an allowance for books and study materials; extra allowances for thesis or project work in higher courses; and additional support for students with disabilities. All payments go directly to the student's bank account (DBT). The family income limit is commonly Rs 2.5 lakh a year.

Online applications for the 2026-27 session are open on the OASIS portal (oasis.wb.gov.in) for SC, ST and OBC post-matric scholarships. ST students must first create an OTR on the National Scholarship Portal. Minority students apply on a separate portal.
